MESDA Today is a Blog for your Personal Development.  The MESDA Today blog will provide information, books, and discussions of spiritual and Motivational materials to help your Personal development including:

1. Miracles

One of most amazing books I have ever read is “A Course in Miracles”.  According to the preface, this volume was channeled directly by Jesus to a woman named Marie Schucman.  She was a Professor of Medical Psychology at Columbia University.  Although not particularly religious, Marie began receiving symbolic dreams images in the 1970s.

Marie decided to share what was happening to her with William Thetford, one of her colleagues at the University,  They decided  that the material was important and should be preserved.  So over the next seven years, Marie wrote down the inner dictation she was receiving and eventually published it in the Volume now known as A “Course in Miracles”.

Since the material is considered channeled to Marie by Jesus, many misunderstand it to be an extension of the Bible.  However, it is far from that.  It actually takes great pains to point out where the Bible has been misunderstood and misinterpreted.  It also provides a means of handling the problems presented by the world  and to move one toward salvation and/or a much better existence.

Whatever your feeling may be about channeling or your religious orientation, the book provides food for thought about how we live and make our lives better.  So my blog will provide a weekly thought pulled from the pages of the course for your consideration, thoughts and discussion.  We hope you find it useful.

2. Escapes

The second part of the blog will review Escapes or getaways to places around the world.  I have always felt that seeing different parts of the world and spending time in different cultures provided me with more education than years in public schools and colleges.  I hope to share and explore some of those places  on this site! Hopefully, we will be able to provide suggestions for trips, Discount opportunities, and tours of interest.

3.  Spiritual Development

When thinking of all the problems of the world today, the dysfunction in Politics, and all the negativity in our interactions with each other, I’ve come to believe that the best answer is in our Spiritual Development.  By spiritual development, I am not necessarily speaking about church or traditional religion, though that can play a part, but just a different way of dealing with each other and how we see and respond to the world/universe.  In the blog, I will discuss many different books that take a different approach to our spirituality.  It is my hope that MESDA Today can bring some light to some of these issues and create some dialog that moves us toward a better world.
